From Brief to Quiz Night: A Dublin Resident Event for 40 Guests
A property management company approached Find a Venue to organise a quiz night in Dublin for residents of one of the properties they manage.
The brief was to find a private venue within walking distance of the residents’ homes and create a relaxed, enjoyable evening that was easy for people to attend. As well as sourcing the venue, we organised the quizmaster, scorekeepers and quiz questions, while helping the client plan the timing, food and overall format of the event.
With around 40 guests attending, the result was a relaxed resident event built around good food, a private space and a professionally hosted quiz.

The Brief
The client wanted to organise a fun and informal quiz night for residents of a property they manage in Dublin 2.
Location was particularly important. The venue needed to be close enough for residents to walk to, while also providing a private space where approximately 40 to 50 people could comfortably eat, socialise and take part in the quiz.
The client needed:
- A private venue close to the residents' homes.
- Space suitable for approximately 40 to 50 guests.
- A professionally hosted quiz that was fun without running too long.
- Finger food for guests during the evening.
- An experienced quizmaster and support with running the quiz.
- A solution that remained within the available budget.
The date also played an important part in keeping costs under control. A major football match the previous evening meant room hire would have been considerably more expensive, so we helped the client choose a date that allowed them to secure the right private space at a more suitable cost.
The Solution
We searched for venues in the immediate area that offered a suitable private space and could accommodate the group comfortably within budget.
Once the venue and date were agreed, Find a Venue organised the entertainment and practical elements needed to run the quiz.
We provided:
- An experienced comedy quizmaster to host the evening.
- Scorekeepers to manage the results.
- Quiz questions prepared in advance.
- Answer sheets and pens for each team.
- Coordination with the venue around the room setup, food and timings.
Before guests arrived, we went to the venue to meet the team and make sure everything was ready. When it became clear that there wasn't a suitable microphone available for the quizmaster, we stayed onsite while one was sourced, set up and tested.
By the time the client and guests began arriving, the private room, quiz materials, food arrangements and equipment were all ready to go.
The Outcome
Guests arrived a little later than originally expected, so rather than starting the quiz and serving the food too early, we adjusted the plan.
Find a Venue coordinated with the organiser, venue team and quizmaster to delay the start of the quiz and move the food service time, giving late arrivals an opportunity to join in and avoiding unnecessary food waste.
Once everyone had settled in, the quiz got underway and the atmosphere quickly picked up.
- Approximately 40 guests attended.
- Finger food platters were served directly to each quiz team.
- The comedy quizmaster kept the evening relaxed and entertaining.
- The revised timings allowed the event to run at the right pace.
- Background music continued after the quiz.
The event finished at approximately 10:00 pm, delivering the relaxed and enjoyable resident event the client had originally planned.
