How We Delivered A Luxury Christmas Party For 90 Guests With Just Four Weeks' Notice
When Elgin contacted Find a Venue in November 2025, they had a clear objective. They wanted to host a high quality Christmas celebration to thank their staff for another successful year.
The challenge was that the event was taking place on Friday 19th December, one of the busiest dates in the corporate events calendar. With only four weeks remaining, suitable venues were becoming increasingly difficult to secure. The event needed to feel special, offer complete privacy, provide space for speeches and entertainment, and deliver the premium experience expected by senior management.

The Brief
Aideen Dowling approached Find a Venue looking for support in organising Elgin's annual Christmas party.
This was more than simply booking a venue. The event was designed as a thank you to staff and needed to reflect the company's appreciation for the hard work and commitment shown throughout the year. The client requested the following:
- Host a Christmas party to thank staff for their hard work throughout the year.
- Secure a luxury private venue in Dublin.
- Accommodate approximately 90 guests from 110 invitations.
- Provide a separate drinks reception area before dinner.
- Deliver a premium experience with speeches, dining, and entertainment.
The Challenge
With only four weeks remaining until the event, availability was already becoming a major challenge.
Friday 19th December is one of the most sought-after dates for corporate Christmas party nights in Dublin. Many of the city's premium venues had already committed their private spaces months in advance.
Finding a venue with a private dining room was achievable. Finding one with the right event flow was far more difficult.
The client wanted guests to begin the evening in a separate drinks reception area before moving into the main room for dinner, speeches, and entertainment. Several venues either lacked a dedicated reception area altogether or offered breakout spaces that were simply too large or too small for the group.
Finding the right combination of rooms became a key priority during the venue search.
The Solution
With availability becoming increasingly limited, Find a Venue focused on identifying venues that could deliver every aspect of the brief rather than simply finding an available room.
After reviewing four potential options, the InterContinental Dublin emerged as the clear choice. The venue provided a private setting for speeches and dining, a dedicated reception area for arrival drinks and networking, and the premium atmosphere the client wanted for its annual staff Christmas celebration.
The layout of the venue was a major factor in the decision. Guests could enjoy a drinks reception before moving seamlessly into the main dining room, creating a natural flow throughout the evening. This ensured the event felt organised, relaxed, and enjoyable from the moment guests arrived.
With the venue secured, Find a Venue coordinated the entertainment and event planning elements, creating an evening that combined quality food, live entertainment, close-up magic, and a welcoming, festive atmosphere.

The Result
Despite having just four weeks to organise the event, every element came together exactly as planned.
Guests arrived to a warm and welcoming drinks reception where Scott Newman provided live music, creating a relaxed atmosphere as colleagues gathered and caught up before dinner. The separate reception area allowed guests to mingle comfortably before moving into the main private dining room for the evening's celebrations.
Once dinner was underway, Shane Black entertained guests with close up magic throughout the room, moving from table to table and quickly becoming one of the highlights of the evening. His performances sparked conversation, laughter, and plenty of discussion as guests tried to work out how the tricks were done.
Throughout dinner and the remainder of the event, Casa Disco provided background music and managed the sound, ensuring the atmosphere developed naturally as the evening progressed. As the formalities concluded and the celebrations continued, the music stepped up a level, the dancefloor filled, and guests enjoyed the remainder of the night together.
The event achieved exactly what it set out to do. Elgin was able to thank its staff with a high-quality Christmas celebration in a venue that reflected the importance of the occasion, while Aideen successfully delivered an event that met the high expectations placed upon her.

When National Lottery approached Find a Venue, the objective was clear. They wanted to create a summer celebration that felt different from a traditional company event and rewarded staff for their hard work throughout the year.
The brief centred around creating a fun, interactive experience where colleagues could relax, socialise, and enjoy an afternoon away from the office. The event needed to feel fresh, engaging, and professionally delivered while offering something guests would genuinely enjoy.
After reviewing four potential venues, House Dublin on Leeson Street was selected. Its central location, exclusive hire option, warm interiors, and impressive indoor outdoor space made it the ideal setting for a private island themed summer party. The venue's natural greenery and relaxed atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for the concept.
Over the following weeks, Find a Venue worked closely with the client to develop a fully themed event featuring branded décor, interactive activities, live entertainment, summer cocktails, a BBQ-style menu, and a range of experiences designed to keep guests engaged throughout the day.

Following the success of their 2024 Christmas party, LineSight wanted to deliver another event that would bring colleagues together for an evening of celebration, recognition, and entertainment.
The challenge was that expectations were already high. Staff were still talking about the previous year's venue and entertainment, meaning simply repeating the same format was never going to be enough.
The client wanted an event that felt fresh and engaging while still incorporating awards, speeches, networking, and a lively party atmosphere. With over 200 guests attending, every element needed to contribute to an experience that would build on the success of previous years.

To create a completely different experience from the previous year's event, Find a Venue developed a Hollywood inspired theme built around arrival entertainment, audience interaction, awards recognition, and a high energy finish to the evening.
Guests were welcomed via a red carpet entrance featuring Oscar style statues, themed props, dramatic lighting, and paparazzi style actors who interacted with attendees as they arrived. The objective was to create excitement from the moment guests entered the venue and immediately set the tone for the night ahead.
Jamie Skelton was selected to host the evening, bringing a highly interactive style that encouraged audience participation throughout the event. This helped maintain energy between speeches, awards presentations, and company celebrations while ensuring guests remained engaged throughout.
As the formal proceedings came to a close, DJ Marty Guilfoyle took over, transforming the atmosphere into a full Christmas party celebration and ensuring the evening finished on a high.
